Bård Flattun Lilleeng has been employed in a 20 % position as adjunct associate professor for a 5-year period in the SAMLET group (Section for Community Medicine, Occupational and Environmental Medicine and Health Management).

October 2019

Sharline Riiser has been employed in a 20 % position as assistant professor for two years from 1st October.

Ingeborg Forthun started as postdoctoral fellow at PraksisNett on 1st October with Bjørn Bjorvatn as supervisor.

Ingvill Fjell Naterstad returned to the physiotherapy group in a 50 % temporary position as assistant professor on 1st October.

Anand Bhopal started in a 4-year PhD position on 3rd October. He will work under supervision of Ole Frithjof Norheim on the project “Climate change, malnutrition and intergenerational justice in Ethiopia”.

September 2019

Line Merethe Solheim started as an apprentice in the administration and reception on 10th September.

Shoaib Hassan started in a four-year PhD position on 1st September. The position is funded by The University of Bergen and connected to the project “Adoption of accurate diagnostics for extra-pulmonary tuberculosis patients and its impact on reducing poverty level and inequity – Extended Cost-Effectiveness Analysis” with main supervisor Tehmina Mustafa.

Torstein Frugård Habiger started a PhD project on 1st September. He is a former research track student and will work on the project «Efficacy of Treating Pain on Psychosis in Nursing Home Patients with and without Dementia: A Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial (COSMOS)» with main supervisor Bettina Husebø.

Fabian Gudmundsen Lillebostad started in a 20 % position as researcher in Jan Magnus Bjordal’s group for 5 months from 1st September.

Julia Romanowska will work in a temporary position as researcher until the end of February 2020. The position is funded by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health and connected to the project “Study of Assisted Reproductive Technology (START) – epigenetic mechanisms”.

Tove Bjørneset started in a temporary position as research coordinator at ETØK on 1st September.

Randi May Oen has returned to the administration in a 50 % position as higher executive officer until 2nd November.

Astanand Jugessur has been employed for a new three-year period in a 20 % position as adjunct associate professor. The position is externally funded by the Research Council of Norway and connected to the project “The intrauterine redox state and telomere length in the newborn”.

Ane-Marthe Solheim Skar has started in a 10 % position as researcher for three years. The position is externally funded by the Research Council of Norway and connected to the project «TREAT C-AUD: Child Alcohol Use Disorder in Eastern Uganda: Screening, Diagnoses, Risk Factors and Handling of Children Drinking Alcohol in Uganda». She has a PhD in psychology from the University of Oslo and works as a researcher and project manager at the Norwegian Centre for Violence and Traumatic Stress Studies.

Vilde Skylstad started on a three-year PhD project funded by the Research Council of Norway. She will work under supervision of Ane-Marthe Solheim Skar on the project «TREAT C-AUD: Child Alcohol Use
Disorder in Eastern Uganda: Screening, Diagnoses, Risk Factors and Handling of Children Drinking Alcohol in Uganda».

This month we would like to welcome Liv Grimstvedt Kvalvik back to IGS for a permanent 50 per cent position as Associate Professor. We would also like to welcome Marta Szwangruber, who will work as a Staff Engineer for the next eight months, and Sturla Haslerud, who will be employed in a 20 per cent position as Associate Professor in physiotherapy as a replacement for Mona Aaslund.
