RCN-grant awarded Trond Riise

Riise has been awarded NOK 12 million from NFR (FRIPRO) for a project aiming at identifying drugs that can contribute to a new and effective treatment of Parkinson’s disease. This will be done by screening for drugs that are reducing the risk of Parkinson’s disease. The project will analyse approximately all 800 million prescriptions including the 1,800 different drugs prescribed to Norwegians since 2004. In the next phase, candidate drugs identified in this screening will be tested at a molecular level in a world-leading laboratory at Harvard University in Boston.
