Bergen Summer Research School

BSRS2018 opens on 11 June. This year there will be 97 participants from  42 nationalities attending.

There are six courses on priority settings in global health; global food insecurity; cultural heritage in the digital age; food security and the oceans, rights as political tools; and ecology and ethics. The courses are tied together by common sessions on cross-disciplanary issues, research tools, writing and presentation skills, keynotes by high-profile researchers, plenary discussions, and an excursion into the Norwegian waterscape.

In this years’s opening keynote on June 11, Professor Dag L. Aksnes of UiB’s Theoretical Ecology Group will talk about the need to find new ways to feed a fast-growing global population: Will the ocean provide more or less food for humanity?
